POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary purpose of the position is to direct housekeeping and laundry service personnel throughout the facility and campus. Must adhere to established policies and procedures to assure that exceptional housekeeping and laundry services are maintained at all times. Performs within the prescribed limits of the Medical Center and department compliance programs. Is responsible to detect, observe, and report compliance variances. Performance of other related duties and activities may be required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess, as a minimum a high school diploma or equivalent, GED. Must have a minimum of one (1) year of experience, in a housekeeping department, in a health related facility plus one (1) year of supervisory experience. Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Be knowledgeable of laundry/linen practices, procedures and guidelines. Ability to work harmoniously with other department personnel and supervise non-professional personnel. Ability to resolve problems and employee relations issues such has mistakes, waste of supplies, misuse of equipment, settling personnel grievances, etc. Possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing housekeeping practices. Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.
