Perform cleaning in assigned areas to maintain the facility in an aseptic condition as required. This position is key to enhancing patient care and employee health, accordingly all duties should be conducted in accordance with infection control policies and procedures for best practices.
Uphold the organization’s vision, mission, and corporate values. Demonstrate understanding of and compliance with organization’s policies, procedures, code of conduct and work rules.
Wash and clean surface areas assigned according to established specialized cleaning procedures to include waxing, stripping, shampooing, vacuuming, sweeping, damp wiping, etc.
Empty trash, sort and dispose of contaminated and non-contaminated trash according to established procedures and Infection Control guidelines
Complete Surgical Suite, Birthing Room and Nursery and other discharge cleaning procedures for regular patient rooms according to checklist when notified by Nursing, performing tasks in accordance with Checklist
Check all equipment prior to the start of each shift for any malfunctions, notifying supervisor and filling out a work request as required
Clean equipment after each shift according to manufacturers' and department specifications, ensuring equipment is ready to use by the oncoming shift and replenish daily supplies
Display a “wet floor” or applicable safety warning signs whenever water, slippery material or obstruction is present on the floor
Perform other duties as assigned.
