Responsibilities:
Identifies, develops and implements strategic solutions to the business’s EHS challenges which improve operational performance, corporate consistency, and enhance business profitability
Provides EHS expertise to division sites relating to identifying and advising of potential safety/health hazards or environmental concerns and assist in developing and implementing corrective actions. Provides expertise pertaining to global regulatory standards, as well as professional direction concerning risk management
Aligns implementation of the EHS improvement process with the goals of the business and supports the development of strategic EHS initiatives within their respective business plans
Participates in cross-functional EHS audits of company facilities and ensures adequate follow-up and remedy for issues identified
Assures timely and accurate reporting for all EHS regulatory requirements in the respective business and conducts due diligence audits related to potential business activities
Provides oversight and advice regarding the development and implementation of formal and informal audit and assurance processes for the business
Keeps current of EHS trends and state of the art solutions for EHS matters. Collaborates with site leadership to develop tools and techniques; help managers and employees to manage change to mitigate the safety impact
Drives safe work practices and environmental responsibility. Collaborate with sites to comply with EHS policies, procedures, and awareness programs
Coordinates or leads investigations and corrective/preventive actions of significant incidents or near misses to identify and solve root causes
Leads division EHS initiatives program to assure process and process changes are properly evaluated as to their potential hazards with regards to environment and safety.
Required Education:
B.S. degree - in engineering, industrial health and safety, operations or similar degree
Qualifications:
Operations Management Experience
Strong facilitative leadership abilities to enable organization to achieve EHS objectives
Experience with Hazard and Risk assessment, process Safety, Environmental Compliance, OHSA, Emergency Response, Contractor Management, Management Systems, and Incident Investigation preferred
Experience managing EHS auditing initiatives, including conducting risk assessment, ensuring adherence to laws, regulations, and policies, interviewing key personnel and conducting audit reporting and writing.
Experience in a global multi-plant manufacturing environment a plus
Ability to influence direction across a complex global organization
Demonstrated success in developing strategies and implementing processes to ensure the company is compliant with both internal and external requirements.
Must be able to work at all levels of the organization plus with external regulatory agencies, must have excellent communication skills.
Strong project management skills along with strong program development and proven training experience a plus.
Must be able to travel 25 – 40 % of the time.
