The Epidemiology Analyst III conducts SAS programming and analysis as needed for pharmacoepidemiologic research studies, provides database support and maintenance, and contributes to report and manuscript writing. Additionally supports the analyst group by training and developing the ability to mentor new and more junior analysts.
Execute (or oversee execution of) the analytic plan for research studies. Assess feasibility of analytic plan and timeline associated with analytic plan.
Create/modify SAS programs to carry out the analytic plan.
Provide analytic advice to project team members; investigate issues with the data and report findings back to team. Serve as lead analyst on large studies that require more than one analyst to complete the work.
Document steps taken and proof/crosscheck results.
Assist in the preparation of analytic results and study methodology in the form of client reports, journal manuscripts, and abstracts/posters for professional meetings. Draft and review methods section of reports.
Generate/maintain SAS databases needed to conduct medical record chart abstraction.
Assess time needed to accomplish tasks; shift priorities/projects as needed
Assist in the preparation of bids for new work, including completing (or overseeing the completion of) feasibility studies
Serve as technical resource to other analysts. Present new programs/techniques to other analysts.
Develop ability to mentor new analysts.
Undergraduate degree required or equivalent experience
5+ years work experience pharma/healthcare or a research setting required.
5+ years programming experience with SAS required
Familiarity with Excel and STATA
MPH or MS in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Economics, Statistics (or equivalent) preferred
