Current vacancies are located in Sanitation and Watershed Management, however, this register will be used to fill positions in other departments that may come available within the next two months.

Operates dump trucks, crane trucks and selected pieces of equipment to perform manual labor as required for an assigned department.


Operates dump trucks, heavy equipment, trucks with attachments, and/or various portable equipment.

Inspects and completes preventative maintenance and minor repairs to various types of equipment, vehicles, heavy equipment, portable equipment and attachments.

Checks equipment for operational readiness, service and repair.

Sets up forms, pours concrete and finish sidewalk, walls, pads and rock walls.

May operate a crane truck to deliver, pick-up, exchange and transport dumpsters.

Delivers, picks up, exchanges and transports dumpsters to and from commercial residential locations.

Inspects equipment before, during, and after usage to ensure safe and proper operation.

Assists in loading and unloading trucks and hauls materials to and from job sites.

Checks equipment for operational readiness, service and repair.

Operates and performs basic maintenance service and minor repairs to equipment and trucks as needed.

Performs traffic control duties, a variety of manual labor tasks, or other duties as assigned my supervisor.

May cut out and remove deteriorated asphalt with jackhammer and shovel.

May spread and compact asphalt using vibratory plate or roller.

May operate specialized construction equipment in working with a variety of construction, drainage, or maintenance projects.

May move earth, spread materials, load trucks, excavate trenches, patch/resurface streets, make cuts and fills, and perform other work with equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:

Two years of experience in the operation of heavy trucks and off road construction equipment, or a related field. Must possess a valid Georgia Commercial Driver's License (CDL) classified/endorsed at the appropriate level for equipment being operated. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered.
