Current vacancies are located in Watershed Management, however, this register will be used to fill positions in other departments that may come available within the next two months.
Operates trucks and other gasoline-powered equipment and their mechanical attachments for assigned department.
Operates dump trucks, trucks with attachments, and/or various portable equipment.
Inspects equipment before, during, and after usage to ensure safe and proper operation.
Assists in loading and unloading trucks and hauls materials to and from job sites.
Checks equipment for operational readiness, service and repair.
Operates and performs basic maintenance service and minor repairs to equipment and trucks as needed.
Performs traffic control duties, a variety of manual labor tasks, or other duties as assigned by supervisor.
May cut out and remove deteriorated asphalt with jackhammer and shovel.
May spread and compact asphalt using vibratory plate or roller.
May perform catch-basin and/or pipe-laying operations, including repairs.
May perform different operations to include shoveling, floating asphalt, landscaping, curb repairs, asphalt patching, sight distance cutting, curb bumping, pouring and mixing concrete.
One year of experience in heavy equipment operation, or a related field. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia Commercial Driver's License (CDL). An equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered.
