The associate in this position will work with two investment analysts helping with research focused on the global pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.
The analytical responsibilities will include scientific, clinical, and commercial due diligence, but be weighted towards financial modeling. Both activities will include compiling and presenting information in written and graphical formats, coordinating and maintaining databases, coordinating and editing written reports, and attending company presentations.
• Building and maintaining detailed financial spreadsheet models of both large and small biopharmaceutical companies.
• Assisting in technical due diligence
• Building forecast models of current and pipeline products
• The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to conduct independent research on key issues pertaining to the biopharmaceutical industry, including healthcare policy, epidemiologic trends, and individual companies.
A scientific background is necessary for this position. The successful candidate will have advanced scientific knowledge; a Master’s degree is acceptable, but an M.D. or Ph.D is preferred. Three or more years of financial or industry experience and advanced spreadsheet and financial modeling skills are required. The successful candidate must demonstrate attention to detail and the ability to initiate and conduct independent projects with minimal guidance. The candidate should also have good written skills and understand the basic principles of investment valuation and analysis.
