Working on projects for municipal/industrial process facilities(water/wastewater, food/chemical) and heavy civil applications, assists in gathering, calculating and compiling data for use in bid proposal estimates for one or more discipline areas.
Follow all requirements of the company quality management system. Take personal responsibility for Quality in working environment. Promote quality among peers, subordinates and supervisors.
Primary Responsibilities:
*Produce quantity take-offs by reviewing plans and specification in assigned areas. Identifies specific disciplines take-off for completeness.
*Enter quantity take-off's in Timberline, material unit pricings as applicable to project. *Recognize and apply appropriate work breakdown structure (WBS) structure.
*Mentor and train Co-ops and Construction Specialist in their duties, in estimating procedures, and in the use of estimating software.
*Coordinate estimate material pricing from vendors and other sources
*Contact subcontractors and suppliers for outsource pricing.
*Complete general administration and record keeping duties including computer input and upkeep of estimating software
*Coordinate and collaborate with appropriate senior staff regarding items/areas of concern
*Coordinate flow of documents during estimate preparation. Provide administrative logging of estimates
*Participate in bid-day tabulations and analysis
*Perform additional duties as assigned

Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent combinations of technical and/or related experience; Minimum 3-5 years related municipal/industrial estimating.
Basic Knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control and material pricing. Ability to read and comprehend drawings and specifications; Ability to develop conceptual knowledge to identify missing element during design development; Knowledge of assigned disciplines, estimating techniques and fundamental cost controls; Strong personal computer skills and demonstration of ability to use Estimating & On-Screen digitizing software.; Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills essential; Fluent command of spoken and written English
