Etsy is seeking a Toronto-based, rock-star Country Lead to drive growth in the Etsy Canada business, lead our small and growing team and focus on digtial marketing, communications and partnerships.
About the Position
In addition to building the team and running our Canadian office, he/she will lead the in-country PR, social media, digital marketing, and strategic marketing partnerships with the primary goal of increasing the number of buyers in the Canadian market, as well as building the overall Etsy brand.
Specific duties include:
Building and leading the Canadian team, office and operations
Developing the overall buyer marketing strategy for Etsy in Canada
Managing campaigns across all digital channels (SEM, SEO, social, display, affiliate, etc.) and defining metrics to ensure proper attribution across these channels and campaigns
Developing strategic marketing partnerships to help grow Etsy in Canada beyond the early adopter segment
Setting, managing and optimising the Canadian marketing budget
Piloting innovative new marketing solutions
Bottom line: the role requires that you be thinking and doing, leading and influencing, rigorously analytical and freeingly creative
5+ years of experience in consumer marketing in Canada, including management of budgets and external vendors/agencies
Online retail or marketplace experience a big plus
Deep experience in at least 2 of the following areas: PR, digital marketing, marketing partnerships
Highly analytical, comfortable analysing data, and using it to make better decisions
Experienced in setting strategy, but not afraid of execution (read: a manager-doer)
Creative in development of campaigns, partnerships, and new approaches to buyer acquisition
Self-directed, can work in small team and influence others (start up experience a plus)
Full of initiative and comfortable in a somewhat hectic, “do it yourself” environment
A passion for handmade and vintage goods a bonus
Sense of humour a must
