Overview

This position is responsible for overseeing the security and housekeeping operation during facility rentals events, helping to ensure the best possible experience for our Facility Rental clients. This position will also work as a security officer during non-event hours. The position will provide part-time sales/event coordination support to the Facility Rentals Department. The Facility Rentals and Security Coordinator reports to both the Manager of Security and Environmental Services and the Facility Rentals Manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: SECURITY

The Event Logistics and Security Coordinator duties include, but are not limited to:

Supervising the activities of the security officers and housekeeping staff on duty.
Ensuring that all museum and department policies and procedures are followed.
Preparing forms and reports as required.
Reviewing and understanding all applicable laws (Federal, State and City), policies and procedures; trains officers in their applications.
Coordinating, conducting ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: SECURITY

The Event Logistics and Security Coordinator duties include, but are not limited to:

Supervising the activities of the security officers and housekeeping staff on duty.
Ensuring that all museum and department policies and procedures are followed.
Preparing forms and reports as required.
Reviewing and understanding all applicable laws (Federal, State and City), policies and procedures; trains officers in their applications.
Coordinating, conducting and documenting security and safety training of department personnel and museum staff.
Will be capable of performing the duties of a security officer and console operator; providing assistance and/or relief to these positions as needed.
Responds to all emergency situations and assumes control in the absence of the Manager of Security.
Will support logistical activities of the security, housekeeping and rentals staff for facility rental events.
Ensuring that emergency housekeeping needs are addressed in a timely manner by either staff as they are available.
Assisting the Manager of Security & Environmental Services in the formulation of plans and procedures, duty and after hour rental work schedules, officer training, professional certifications and performing other related duties as assigned.
Assists in guest relations, and demonstrate the ability to resolve problems to the betterment of the Museum and guest satisfaction.
Responsible for maintaining adequate equipment and supplies for department use while remaining within budgetary guidelines.
Will have knowledge of Museum Ethics, published by the American Association of Museums.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: FACILITY RENTALS

Provide sales support during event working hours by taking potential and already-booked facility rental clients on sales/informational tours.
Act as a representative of the Facility Rentals Department for some events as the clients contact while overseeing coordination/execution of the event.
Work directly with Facility Rentals Manager and other Facility Rentals Coordinators to ensure all aspects of the contract are fulfilled and to maintain client relationships for the purpose of ensuring customer satisfaction and rebooking of future business.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTY:
Security Officers and Housekeeping staff on duty. May need to supervise volunteers or interns on occasion.
