Altria Group Distribution Company’s role is to provide sales, distribution and consumer engagement services for Altria’s tobacco operating companies. We are currently seeking a highly qualified Event Marketing Specialist to join our Event Marketing department in Richmond, VA.
Event Marketing delivers brand messages through the development relevant experiences and interactive dialog with adult tobacco consumers 21+. It allows consumers to learn about brands in ways they prefer and has the power to influence attitude, purchase behavior and brand loyalty. For Altria, Event Marketing is about responsibly connecting adult tobacco consumers with Altria’s Operating Company brands. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing and managing event marketing programs that generate brand awareness, product trial and contribute to the ongoing development of the adult tobacco consumer data base. Typical programs are national in scope and require substantial travel and onsite supervision. The ability to develop a highly collaborative working relationship with the Brand group, Law Department, key business suppliers and other supporting resources both within Altria and externally is critical to the Specialist’s success.
Specific accountabilities include:
Supporting the design, development and execution of event programs within the brand timeline and budget parameters to meet brand objectives.
Analyzing quantitative and qualitative event performance data for key insights and recommend optimization plans when applicable.
Collaborating with key stakeholders, both internally and externally.
Collaborating with event marketing supplier(s) and reviewing performance of assigned tasks to ensure contract compliance.
Developing and tracking budgets as appropriate.
Coordinating and tracking program inventory as appropriate.
A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) with a minimum of 18 months of event marketing or similar experience preferred.
The ability to travel approximately 50% of the time including weekends and holidays.
Strong organizational and planning skills.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with internal staff and suppliers from diverse backgrounds.

The ability to assist with the set up and teardown of event equipment.
