Responsibilities

The Event Planner supports Event Management in meeting business objectives by creating innovative, quality events aligned with organizational strategies. This position is responsible for coordinating logistics activities of sales meeting, convention, incentive and recognition programs.

Primary responsibility:
Event registration - create and manage event registration websites.
Support convention strategies across the organization.
Develop and manage vendor relationships and negotiate all related contracts and services.
Track and communicating timely reports related to assigned projects.
Maintain budgets and ROI metrics.
Travel for this position is approximately 20% of the time and on numerous weekends.

Qualifications

Bachelor¿s degree in business or related field required.
Minimum 3 years corporate meeting/convention planning and execution experience, including registration management.
Prefer 3 years general business experience in a sales/marketing organization.
Experience with independent sales reps preferred.
Meeting Professional certification preferred.
Financial and negotiation expertise required.
Able to work in a strong team environment.
Relationship building skills.
Required proficiency in computer applications and database management including Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word; web familiarity preferred.
Self-motivated, able to handle multiple projects and logistics simultaneously and manage deadlines.
Demonstrate knowledge of hotel/convention facility operations (convention space, catering, audio visual) and have knowledge of hotel reservation system operations.
