StarChefs.com is looking for an Events Director to produce and manage the annual International Chefs Congress (ICC) and oversee its quarterly event, Rising Stars Revue. We are looking for a senior events planner with experience in the culinary industry either front or back of the house and/or both.
This is a full-time, year-round position that requires great communication skills, management experience, serious multi-tasking abilities, an unwavering attention to detail and persistent determination to get the job done.
-Organize and execute the International Chefs Congress, manage load-in and load-out of the venue
-Negotiate and manage with all vendors
-Set and manage the budget for ICC
-Conduct storage inventory for StarChefs' equipment leading up to ICC
-Design of floor plans experience with room design software a plus
-Coordinate with design, marketing and editorial to ensure deadlines for all print and digital materials related to ICC
-Work with the Presenter Coordinator to oversee travel accommodations for traveling presenters, manage budget for all travel expenses, ensure presenters have proper ingredients and equipment to execute the demonstrations
-Hire and manage event supports team
-Lead the StarChefs.com team in weekly event meetings and coordinating among departments (marketing, design, and editorial)
-Coordinate with all departments to ensure all projects are completed in a timely manner
What we are looking for:
-5+ years event planning and production experience
-3+ years in a management and/or leadership role
-Bachelor's degree and preferably a culinary school degree
-Experience and/or in-depth knowledge in the culinary industry
-A balance of positive energy and ability to remain calm during a chaotic event and period of preparation for that event.
-Strong communication skills
-Excels at time management and prioritizing tasks
-Experience working in a non-traditional, small office environment
-Experience with New York City unions a plus
