Geocachers love meeting other geocachers and we need an Events Production Manager to help create the experiences that connect our community. Whether it be the annual Geocaching Block Party or the Boy Scout Jamboree, we have fun creating events that inspire outdoor play for over 5 million geocachers worldwide.

What You’ll Do:
Create & Plan : We throw a block party every year with thousands of local and international geocachers in attendance. Our community throws Mega-Events and they love it when we show up in a big way. Many organizations love to have the Geocaching booth at their event and our children’s mascot even has his own travel calendar. Plus, many other exciting events that we haven’t even touched on.
Budget & Measure : These type of events are a great way for us to spread the love of geocaching, but we must do it in the most fiscally responsible manner possible. You will be responsible for making sure that we are using our budget in a way that minimizes costs while still adding wow.
Share & Rally : Spread the word to create excitement and increase attendance at geocaching events. You’ll make sure that geocachers know about all the amazing events they are invited to attend. You’ll act as the face of the company by travelling to events around the globe.

Required Skills:
Detail Oriented - You know that “Plan A” isn’t enough. You always have a multi-tiered strategy for dealing with event hiccups when - not if - they happen. You have a love of to-do lists, spreadsheets, and have even come up with your own organizational strategy for event management.
Been There Done That - You can navigate the event permitting process with your eyes closed. There will never be a bottleneck in the flow of an event because you know to put the refreshments far from the door. You will be teaching *us* new tricks about event planning.
Creative - Events aren’t all checklists and permits. They’ve gotta be fun. You were on the flavor party trend long before the NYT picked it up. You embed something worth talking about into each and every event you plan. People love your parties.
Leadership - You’ll be working across departments. You’ll be working with outside vendors. You’ll be working with the geocaching community directly. You’ll even need a group of employees to help you on event day. You’ll be able to lead these efforts elegantly.
Prioritized Juggling - You see a pile of work. No. A mountain of work. And you know how to attack it. Sometimes it takes a pickaxe, and sometimes it takes dynamite. But you can figure out the right tools to move that mountain.
Self-Motivated - You grin when someone tells you to “Start Juggling!!!” Because you’ve already been juggling for hours.
Collaborator - You love being part of a team and rallying fellow co-workers. Your life-long motto is “we are all in this together.” And part of that is graciously receiving and owning coaching and feedback.
Love of Geocaching - Even if you’re new to Geocaching, you can instantly see why people get hooked on finding that next ‘cache!

Bonus Points For:
The ability to communicate in a second language. Dead/fictional languages count.
A large collection of Geocoins.
Experience working with a wide range of cultures.
3-5 years of relevant work or life experience.
A love of herding cats.
