Central Engineering is looking to hire an Executive Assistant to support the Vice President of Central Engineering. This candidate must be highly professional. This position requires a minimum of 3 years experience providing administrative support to senior management. The successful candidate will be a high-energy individual with good business judgment and strong administrative/organizational skills. The individual must demonstrate excellent customer focus, ability to work well under pressure and multi-task, and independently prioritize conflicting demands. Respect for confidentiality and ability to deal with sensitive issues is essential. The ideal candidate will be conscientious and demonstrate a "can-do" attitude. Strong presentation and interpersonal skills are required as well as exemplary follow-up skills. Candidate must possess strong communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management both internal and external to the company as well as with union personnel, customers and public officials. Requires a Bachelors degree and 3yrs administrative support to senior staff, or a High School Diploma/GED and 5 years administrative support to senior staff. Formal secretarial school certification/degree preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required. Knowledge of Company mainframe systems such as HR Payroll (Peoplesoft), iExpense, etc is preferred, or applicants without these skills must become proficient. Must have the ability to work flexible hours when business needs or system conditions requires immediate or additional attention.

Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Requires manual dexterity to type and answer phone. Must be able to push, pill, lift up to 20lbs. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities: Selected candidate will provide office management and secretarial support for the Vice President, maintain Vice President’s daily calendar and prepare correspondence, memorandums and other documents as required. Selected candidate will organize and prioritize incoming correspondence and other requests for the Vice President’s attention and screen all incoming calls and route appropriately. Selected candidate will coordinate departmental meetings, and maintain travel and expense accounts and reimbursements and billing arrangements. Other tasks and special projects as assigned. Candidate will also field, track and assist in preparing responses to executive inquiries and complaints from customers and local officials. Will ensure a thorough, timely and professional response in all cases. Will follow-up with responsible managers on all projects assigned by the VP within the department. Selected candidate will assist in the coordination of Telecom equipment within Central Engineering.
