Manages Computer Science Dpt. Main Office. Dpt. Course Scheduler. Assists Chair with coordinating with Faculty, Part-Time Faculty, and Graduate Teaching Assistants. Performs special research and analysis and based upon findings of analysis creates new internal policies and procedures. Compiles and analyzes statistical, financial, and other Dpt data and incorporates into reports.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 0-1 years of relevant professional experience. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Desired Qualifications:
Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, analytical, and project management skills.Proficiency with computers, presentation preparation, and administrative software.Creative problem solving in a team-based environment

Job Duties

Function:
Serves as Course Scheduler for the Department of Computer Science. It involves coordinating the schedule of the department courses for each semester in such a manner that courses offered do not conflict with: (1) other required courses of each particular level (class) of undergraduate students and graduate students within CS departmental Program; and (2) other required courses offered by other departments. For each semester, coordinates with faculty members relative to their required teaching loads and their future sabbatical. Satisfies the faculty’s special classroom needs. In collaboration with personnel from all levels from other departments, continually ensures that requirements are met. Assists Department Chair with coordinating with Faculty, Part-Time faculty and graduate assistants. Manages textbook adoptions and desktop copies for department courses. Coordinates with SEAS Scheduling Liaison and SEAS Lab Coordinator.

Function:
Manages Department of Computer Science Main Office. It involves tracking and ordering all department office supplies, refreshments for CS Colloquiums and other ongoing events. Department coffee/tea setup supplies; in charge of Conference Room scheduling and scheduling department event rooms; manages all Departmental requests for GW Facilities; Housekeeping, Lock Shop, Carpentry offices services; oversees service requests for Department Xerox machine. Responsible for Department’s second P-card and makes department purchases as needed. Backup supervisor for department’s 2 student workers.

Function:
Performs special research and analysis including but not limited to, scheduling analysis, enrollment analysis, instructional and lab supplies analysis. Based upon the finding of the analysis, creates new internal policies and procedures.

Function:
Maintains office files of Department adjunct faculty, graduate teaching assistants, and graduate instructional assistants, as well as policy and decision files, regulations, historical files and similar applicable documentation.

Function:
Compiles and analyzes statistical, financial, and other significant departmental data. Generates reports for the University and Computer Science related professional organizations, such as Survey of Earned Doctorates ( SED ) and Computer Research Association [Taulbee Survey].
