Role Summary The Executive Director of Ad Operations is responsible for managing the team and the technology for the direct and indirect ad sales business model.

This role is responsible for directing the placement of all advertisements, developing and implementing the technology and processes for effective advertising campaigns and ensuring all advertising efforts work toward the organizations ’ overall goals and objectives. The Executive Director of Ad Ops collaborates with other departments and proactively solves problems relating to campaigns. This role must understand site functionality and possess knowledge of all ad products available on the site, including specs, general availability and performance of ad units. This role will work closely with the CRO to develop best in class technology stack, best in class media formats, and best in class processes and technologies to drive the business forward.

Responsibilities Directly manage a team of Ad Operations Associates and oversee the day-to-day operations including staff management, project allocations, deadlines, and active communication with peers. Plan and direct all aspects of policies and initiatives regarding Cheezburger ’s advertising strategy. Responsible for monitoring campaign delivery, turnaround time, troubleshooting and other key performance indicators relating to mobile and network ad operations. Solve technical issues and provide solutions between clients and internal staff; ensure effective communication with Client Services, Publisher, Network and Third-Party technologies.

Field escalation of issues including troubleshooting of campaign delivery and technical issues with ad ops staff, customers, ad serving vendors, 3rd party technologies, and other internal departments Ensure timely campaign launch, communicating to the sales and account teams with updates and required adjustments, monitoring, management and delivery. Also work with finance department on billing issues and reporting to help deliver weekly inputs into the business model that can be shared with the executives and the Board. Direct the professional development of the ad operations staff, providing goals, performance reviews, mentorship, and training on an ongoing basis. Develop employee skill sets that align with departmental needs.

Lead the maintenance of the knowledge base that includes best practices and procedures for use internally and eventually by our clients. Develop and implement improvements to the trafficking, quality assurance process and set process guidelines. Experience 7+ yrs directing complex customer-facing fulfillment operations in an digital advertising environment. Demonstrated ability to manage teams in a dynamic and fast paced environment Strong interpersonal skills that encourage team cooperation promote enthusiasm and motivate strategic thinking.

Personal work characteristics which inspire the best in customer service style, detail work, follow through, multi-task in fast paced environment, collaboration with internal teams, insightful problem solving. Direct experience with advertising technology solutions a must. Knowledge of digital ad platforms, ad networks and real-time bidding environments. Experience working with Executive Teams.

Strong executive communication and presentation skills are critical. Understanding of the overall media and measurement/analytics landscape, online advertising and marketing trends. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results-driven, team-oriented environment. Excellent verbal/written communication skills; polished and professional demeanor.

BA/BS degree required.
