The Consumer Technology business at NPD works with some of the most well-known and exciting companies in the world. Are you passionate about consumer electronics? Do you read Engadget and The Verge, Mossberg and Pogue, attend CES and have an opinion on which companies are doing things right and which companies should be doing things better? Our team is seeking an Executive Director, Client Development who is responsible for providing strategic insights to our clients, driving revenue within our accounts, and managing, coaching and developing a team.
This position is open to location in NPD’s Port Washington office or a home office in the Northeast.
•Build strategic relationships with senior level client contacts to develop business insights regarding the clients’ most important business issues/needs, both short and long-term.
•Understand the dynamics of each client’s organization and penetrate the account base to identify applications for NPD products and services.
•Lead the contract negotiation process with Technology clients in order to achieve/exceed territory revenue objectives.
•Demonstrate usage of category point-of-sale data to objectively partner with manufacturers to help them grow their business and gain market share.
•Provide recommendations to client leadership teams and product management teams, on matters such as promotional success, strategic brand management, and merchandising/plan-o-gramming, based on market research analysis.
•Enhance manufacturer and retailer collaboration through the use of NPD Account Level Reports (ALRs) in line reviews and joint business planning.
•Lead a multi-level client development staff, while actively contributing to the effectiveness, development and satisfaction of the team.
•Partner with support departments and support teams to ensure success for the business.
•10+ years of experience within client services, account management or sales with a market research company, or Category Management experience within a manufacturer preferred.
•Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and develop a team.
•Strong presentation skills with a high comfort level presenting to large groups and senior audiences.
•Demonstrated success in contract negotiations.
•Proven history of meeting and exceeding revenue goals.
•Ability to synthesize data and develop meaningful conclusions/insights using POS and consumer data.
•Ability to generate/support creative ideas and effectively sell those ideas.
•Travel typically 15-20%
