Responsibilities:

The Executive Director of Marketing Strategy leads the marketing strategic functions within the Foundation which include marketing research, brand strategy, market trend analysis, competitor research and analysis, advertising, and marketing metric report development and analysis. Responsible for creating long-term Business-to-Consumer and Business-to-Business market plans and strategies. Supports the development of Strategic Business Units (SBU) marketing plans which promote Hazelden’s products and services effectively to meet growth and profitability goals. Works collaboratively with the VP of Publishing, the Executive Director of Business Development and SBU business leaders to provide strategic marketing support for national and regional marketing and sales initiatives in a decentralized, matrix organizational structure.

Qualifications:

Position requires a Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism or related field; MBA with marketing focus or equivalent experience; a minimum 10 years of marketing and sales experience including hands-on knowledge of marketing plans and strategy, working with a diverse range of strategic and tactical marketing tools, processes and methodologies required; must have experience applying marketing plans to sales generation and measuring the impact; requires a minimum of 5 years staff management experience; a minimum of 5 years marketing communications experience in media relations, public relations, journalism or related field with proven successful track record; experience working in an advertising agency with a familiarity for how agency processes work is desired.
