The YMCA of the North Shore has an opportunity for a proven leader to become the next Executive Director of the Salem YMCA. This position is responsible for leadership and direction of the Salem Y and serves as a member of the senior management team of the YMCA of the North Shore.
The Branch Executive Director is accountable for the operation of the Salem Y, including administration of business operations; programs and membership; maintenance and upkeep of facility, grounds and equipment; and charitable giving. The ED provides leadership to staff, volunteers and members to fulfill the mission of the Y with consistent demonstration of the Y's values of caring, respect, honesty and responsibility. The ED will envision and implement plans to achieve Salem YMCA goals in accordance with NSYMCA financial, administrative, and other policies and procedures.

Build Support: Build the needed and deserved support for the great mission work of the Salem YMCA. Rally, inspire and advocate for increased donated dollars, more active volunteers, greater city support and additional agency funding.
Embrace Change: With appreciation for its more than 150 years of history, lead the Salem Y forward to incorporate an additional focus on creative arts. Complete the capital efforts to restore Ames Hall and integrate a creative arts culture into the already vital work being done at the Salem Y.
Be Present: Motivate, inspire and lead through high visibility at the Salem Y. Always lead by example and ensure that leadership staff are empowered and great role-models to all employees.
Provide Vision: Recognize the unique qualities of the Salem Y's historic facility and the great passion of its stakeholders. Implement actions that maximize its current assets and move the Salem Y to a more fiscally stable position. Increase its overall contribution to the YMCA of the North Shore.
Desired Skills and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a related field. A minimum of five years of successful YMCA leadership experience or equivalent that includes management and supervisory experience. Successful candidates will have a positive history of leadership in the areas of: volunteer and staff development, operations and financial management, strategic planning and execution, and community and donor cultivation.
