DESCRIPTION

Solicit group business that enables the hotel to meet and/or exceed revenue goals in rooms and food and beverage. This position will selectively sell all markets, as well as corporate, government, entertainment and association markets to maximize rooms and food and beverage revenue focusing on groups of 30 rooms peak and under. Position will service EMM size businesses, this is a One Stop Shop position that reports and is under the direction of the DOSM. This is considered to be an Entry Level sales manager position that offers accomplished individuals an opportunity to grow within this opportunity or the sales community.

DUTIES

Solicit new and existing accounts to meet/exceed revenue goals through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication. Ability to arrange and recover from last minute changes, and multi-task in a busy, changing environment.Details, prepares and initiates Banquet Event Orders to the client's specifications and in conjunction with the F&B Director and Executive Chef. Participate in daily Sales Stand-up meetings, attends weekly sales meeting and others as directed. Works with the hotel Revenue Manager and DOS to determine room's availability and agreed upon rates. Develop/maintain knowledge of market trends, competition and customers. Practice effective revenue/yield management to include wise negotiation and booking function space, focused solicitation during soft occupancy periods and effective rate and price negotiation.Consults with representatives of client group to plan details such as number of persons expected, display space desired, and food service schedule.Have a comprehensive understanding of the property and its offerings. Obtains permits from fire and health departments to erect displays and exhibits for serving food in rooms other than dining rooms. Maintain accurate and proper handling/records of catering and reservations books.Comprehensive knowledge of market position, banquet and food and beverage revenues, pricing and rate structures, sales strategies, yield management, booking trends, and future hotel planning. Be fully knowledgeable of the capabilities and limitations of the hotel and departments that may impact sales strategies.Conduct site tours for potential clients. Achieve and exceed individual and team annual goals as established by the annual Marketing Plan.Achieve budgeted revenues and expenses and maximize profitability related to the sales department.Complete understanding of PCI Compliance and all related to.Promptly respond to and resolve guest requests, complaints, or questions in a courteous and timely manner. Ability to accurately use various offices and accounting software. Must possess computer skills, including, but not limited to, accounting programs, Microsoft Word, Excel and Sales Pro.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school or equivalent education required. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Minimum of 2 years in hospitality catering/sales management in a full service hotel required. Must have a comprehensive knowledge of all hotel departments and functions. Knowledge of the BEO process. Must have negotiating skills, selling strategies, understanding of food and beverage.Schedule is generally Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., however must be able to work varying shifts based on business and client demand, including weekends and holidays and necessary.EOE/M/F/D/V/Drug-Free Workplace/MUST BE AUTHORIZED TO WORK IN THE UNITED STATES Solicit new and existing accounts to meet/exceed revenue goals through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication.
