Reporting to the Executive Director of the Newcomb College Institute, the Executive Secretary provides administrative assistance in support of operational activities of the Newcomb College Institute. Responsibilities include but are not limited to managing the Executive Director’s calendar, assisting with research and publications, writing remarks, developing blog posts, and editing and producing case studies.
Three years’ experience
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
Ability to work professionally, courteously, and effectively with internal and external groups. Exercises sound judgment and discretion at all times and maintains cooperative working relationships with both internal and external constituencies and co-workers
Strong organizational skills and ability to handle and prioritize many tasks simultaneously.
Takes initiative in seeking out new projects and responsibilities.
Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed
Superior knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, especially Outlook calendar, Word, and Excel. Familiarity with standard electronic office equipment (phones, copier, fax, IPhone, IPad)
Reliable and punctual
Minimum Required Education
High school diploma or equivalent
Familiarity with Tulane University systems
Knowledge of women’s studies and women in higher education
