Position is the key administrative support person for the Institute of Economic Competitiveness ( IEC ). Responsibilities include arranging and coordinating the Director’s schedule including both local and national speaking engagements and both television and radio interviews; preparing travel arrangements for the Director; answering incoming calls to the IEC ; assist in hiring new students, supervising and coordinating student’s schedules; maintain up-to-date internal and external contacts with reporters and the like; responsible for maintaining the mailing list and for the mailing of the US Forecast & Florida & Metro Forecast sent out quarterly; preparing Purchase Orders as needed; reconciling several accounts monthly and ordering of supplies.
A high school diploma and four years of appropriate experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience. Attainment of a score of at least 35 cwpm on an approved typing test. If minimum requirements of the position do not require post high school education, an applicant is not required to provide the information on the application.
Prefer candidates with excellent written and verbal communication skills, detail-oriented and with proven experience in PeopleSoft Financials, payroll processing, budget tracking, travel arrangements, purchasing, and strong customer service skills.
Prefer candidates with knowledge of payroll certifications and effort certification (Ecerts).
Prefer candidates who possess strong Microsoft Office skills (Word and Excel), and also possess knowledge of UCF’s administrative and purchasing procedures, as well as attention to detail and sensitivity to confidential data.
