The Expedite Coordinator will ensure complete, timely and accurate planning, scheduling and tracking of expedited routes and shipments. In addition to tactical executive, the Expedite Coordinator must be proactive in looking for ways to improve current operations and decrease expedited shipments in the supply chain.
Summary of Key Responsibilites
Expedite management for day to day scheduling, coordinating and tracking of expedited materials.
Point of contact for supplier requiring additional transportation.
Proactively manage of routes and schedule additional transportation for over-capacity routes.
Provide customer service to suppliers and Honda personnel for expedited material.
Plan for expedited material, and resolve all variance exceptions including route changes, add-ons and cancellation schedules.
Arrange expedite transportation with appropriate carrier.
Supervise LLP Material Follow-up Specialist as it pertains to Expedite Planning for Honda.
Organize and maintain files and logbooks of expedite shipments.
Maintain expedite metrics and reporting for Honda expedites.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Transportation/Logistics or equivalent experience required.
At least one year related experience is required.
Languages and Communication Skills
Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
Ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications.
High degree of logic, initiative, and creativeness.
Proven ability to work in stressful situations, while providing extraordinary customer service when dealing with customers and suppliers.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to follow through and document each inquiry.
Balance team and individual responsibilities.
Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize in demanding environments with tight deadlines.
Travel is not required for this position.
Work is typically performed in a stockroom, warehouse, or loading environment.
