POSITION PURPOSE -
Manages field execution of new store openings. Ensures stores are set to planogram as prescribed by ASSC merchandising. Coordinates all vendor activities in new stores. May also play primary role in managing remodels and major capital projects.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES -
Coordinates with vendors regarding agreed to promotional displays. Coordinates with in-store managers around initial customization and coordinates with merchandising/signage and other support groups.
Drives merchandising mix in conjunction with DSM and GPM.
Host POSM meeting and attend steel walk.
Sets new stores against central plan-o-grams and directives. Responsible for setting current store remodels across departments.
Conducts merchant walk/culture walk; understand and address DSM concerns; visit store weekly during pre-opening; place purchase orders for new store displays and ensure all PK training is delivered to new associates prior to grand opening.
Manage major remodels in existing stores (time permitting; otherwise this responsibility rests with the DSM)

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
