In this position, you will be responsible for the receipt of new loss notices, performing Equipment Breakdown claim investigations by telephone and by site visitation, conducting insurance coverage analyses, performing Business Income and Extra Expense financial analyses, and adjusting and settling within assigned authority level.
This position has extensive contact with many of HSB's customers.
Some travel will be required.
Qualifications - Education:
Required: - Bachelors degree or high school diploma with equivalent work experience.
Desired: - College degree in engineering or business, with completion of insurance course work, AIC, ARM or CPCU designation.
Qualifications - Work Experience:
Required: - Two years of experience as a property claim adjuster; or five years of Equipment Breakdown underwriting experience; or five years of Equipment Breakdown loss prevention/field engineering experience.
Desired: - Five years of experience handling Equipment Breakdown claims. Working knowledge of mechanical/electrical /electronic equipment.
Qualifications - Technical Skills:
Required: - Demonstrated knowledge of commercial occupancies and risk exposures. Computer proficiency with Windows, Outlook, Word.
Desired: - Industry experience with equipment, engineering systems, or technology. Experience with claim systems, diary systems, and logging daily activities within an electronic claim system.
Qualifications - Non-Technical Skills:
Required: - Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills. Good organizational skills; able to multi-task concurrent assignments. Must work well in a team environment, be self-directed and highly motivated. Work remotely.
Desired: - Strong presentation and negotiating skills. Highly proficient writing skills with the ability to communicate complex technical analyses and policy terms and conditions.

Required: - Capabilities in general accounting. Experience with Excel is required.
