This position is in the Sewer Main Repair Section, Monday-Friday 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
tThe successful candidate will supervise, plan, coordinate, review, and oversee the Sewer Repair section in various assigned field construction, maintenance, repair, or operational activities within an assigned division which may include water, wastewater, and other related services; to coordinate assigned activities with other divisions, outside agencies and the general public; and to provide highly responsible and complex staff assistance to assigned senior management staff. Coordinate installation of sewer replacement projects; address customer/service issues. Select, train, motivate and evaluate field operations personnel; provide or coordinate employee training; work with subordinate employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline and termination procedures.
Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for climbing, stooping, moderate to heavy lifting or standing related to completing assigned divisional tasks; general manual dexterity; adequate speech, vision, and hearing required; must be able to operate assigned equipment. Indoor and outdoor environments; exposure to inclement weather conditions while inspecting various field operations sites; exposure to chemicals, toxic materials, and water as related to assigned tasks; hazards associated with operating a motor vehicle. Skills / Requirements
The following education and/or experience or its equivalent is the minimum standard which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this position:
>BR > High School Diploma or GED certificate required, supplemented by specialized training in construction, maintenance, repair or related activities, PLUS four (4) years of responsible experience in water/wastewater experience preferred.
Supervisory experience required; Two (2) years supervisory experience strongly preferred. Extensive telephone and customer contact required.
Possession of a valid Class C Drivers License and an acceptable driving record required.
Possession of a minimum Class II Wastewater Collection License required.
