Description

The Registered Clinical Dietitian provides nutritional care to patients in accordance with the philosophy, objectives, and policies of the medical center and department. The Dietitians deliver comprehensive nutritional care to patients beginning with nutritional screening, assessment of patients, development of plan of nutritional care, implementation of plan of care, evaluation of care, and follow-up.

Qualifications

Education:
College graduate with a four-year degree in Foods and Nutrition from an accredited college or university. Prefer Registered Dietitian. Registry Eligible acceptable, however must pass exam within one year after initiation of employment. Must have completed an approved Dietetic Internship by the American Dietetic Association, Coordinated Undergraduate Program, or Master’s Degree with experience.

Experience:
Experience in providing nutrition care in inpatient and outpatient settings for a wide variety of disease states to include diabetes, obesity, renal disease, wound healing, cardiovascular health, tube feedings and TPN preferred. Experience and comfort with public speaking preferred. Computer literacy required.

Licenses/Certificates:
Commission on Dietetics Registration - Registered Dietitian or Registry Eligible. State of Illinois Dietitian license required.
