ARCHIVAL SPECIALIST, Facilities-Campus Planning, Engineering and Construction, to maintain the archives of drawings, plans, specifications, and other materials associated with projects that affect MIT's physical campus. Will serve as a contact for people seeking archival information about the campus and as a resource for students, faculty, and Facilities' staff needing information about the MIT campus; serve as the gateway to Facility Information Systems (FIS) and their products and services; act as first point of contact for the ground and as the liaison between the Institute Archives, Libraries, and MIT Museum; and help set the protocols and procedures for archiving information. In addition to managing project information, will be responsible for organizing, indexing, and preserving the historic building archives that are managed by FIS. Position involves regular contact with consulting architects and engineers working on MIT projects.

REQUIREMENTS: a bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, library sciences, or related field; working knowledge of physical and digital archival procedures/standards; a minimum of three years' experience working in the architectural, engineering, and construction industry; a minimum of five years' experience managing digital archives in a professional environment; an understanding of the construction process and archiving issues surrounding construction activities; proficiency with computers and working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Autodesk, and image processing software; ability to quickly learn new software programs/upgrades; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of customers; expertise conducting research for digital and print media; attention to detail; strong organizational and customer service skills; self-motivation; and willingness to work independently with little direction.
