NRDC is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to intern in with our Chicago Office Administrator. This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in facilities management and sustainability initiatives. The Facilities Intern will work on various projects including Emergency Preparedness & Business Continuity and LEED for Existing Buildings.
This internship is designed to be both educational and practical. In this position, the intern will learn how to take skills she or he may have acquired in school, and apply them in a professional setting. He or she will gain a better understanding of the role that Facilities Managers can play in a non-for-profit setting and how to implement sustainability practices. This internship is paid: $15.00 per hour.
Current student or recent graduate with an interest to work in facilities management and sustainability;
Understanding of USGBC/LEED certification;
Must have strong research and communication skills as well as the confidence and maturity to assume serious responsibility;
Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously;
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
