Hourly Wage: $10.55
Full-time, temporary positions, 40 hours per week, 5 days per week . Daily work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Work schedules and sites are subject to change to meet operational needs to include all housing facilities. Employee operates cleaning equipment, including floor scrubbers, carpet extractors and wet/dry vacuums, uses cleaning chemicals and materials; performs heavy lifting and removal of trash, moves furniture and equipment, shovels snow; cleans fixtures, furnishings and facilities in and around Residence Halls, dining commons, office spaces and other auxiliaries; works alone or in groups; climbs ladders and performs work from ladders; maintains possession of master keys and security cards.
Employee must maintain cleanliness, orderliness, appearance and sanitation inside and in the immediate exterior areas of University buildings/facilities with a willingness to be flexible to a change in cleaning routines as needed. Demonstrated communication skills with the ability to submit brief verbal and written reports related to work areas and the ability to work independently and/or as part of a team required. Employee must be able to follow verbal and written instructions and understand Material Safety Data Sheets for handling chemicals. Occasionally, work includes cleaning up human waste products. Hepatitis immunization will be made available. Ability to regularly lift up to 40 lbs., climb stairs, work with arms overhead, withstand temperature changes and shovel heavy snow throughout the workday required. Ability to drive normally requiring a valid Maine driver’s license preferred. Appropriate background checks are required.
