Starting Salary: $61,200.00*
Salary Range for this Position: $61,200.00 - $99,231.00
*+ up to 15% depending on the qualifications of the successful applicant.

Highly responsible administrative work in directing a program of construction, and maintenance of County buildings, facilities, equipment, and grounds.
Essential Job Functions:
Plans, organizes, directs, and controls the activities and operations of the Facilities Management Department. Responsible for the performance of all department functions, including the construction, maintenance, and administrative areas. Develops specific short-term and long-term plans and programs, together with supporting budget requests and financial estimates. Assigns priorities and assures appropriate resource acquisition and application. Reviews performance against operating plans and standards. Reviews and approves cost control reports, cost estimates, and manpower requirement forecasts. Develops, implements and monitors policies and procedures appropriate to the day-to-day operation of the department. Directs architectural firms, consultants, and/or staff to plan and design construction and modification of buildings and structures. Confers with division/department heads and Constitutional Officers regarding their maintenance and space needs. Makes recommendations as to the design of renovation and building maintenance projects. Prepares and monitors annual budgets to prioritize funding requirements for the maintenance of buildings and grounds. Responsible for developing a long term Capital Improvement Plan to meet the space needs of all facets of County government including Constitutional Officers.
Performs related work as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of the methods, techniques, tools, and materials used in the building trades and mechanical repair. Knowledge of the occupational hazards associated with various trades work and the pertinent safety precautions. Knowledge of the materials commonly used in the care and maintenance of buildings and equipment. Sound administrative skills, and well-developed management skills. Strong analytical, numerical, and reasoning abilities. Strong leadership ability and presentation skills. Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with employees, public officials, business associates and citizens.
Ability to communicate effectively using speaking, hearing, writing, and vision skills.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field to this position. Five years progressively responsible experience in large-scale commercial building maintenance, and/or construction. One of more of the following certifications is preferred: Florida Sterling Examiner, Baldrige Examiner, or Kaizen.
A comparable amount of directly related experience MAY be substituted at the County’s discretion for the minimum educational requirements if candidates are not available that fully meet the minimum requirements of the position as posted.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Must become a Pasco County resident within one (1) year after employment date.
