This is a seasonal position; May-September.

Under the direction of the Doyon Tourism Facilities Manager and the DRC Property Manager, the Facilities Manager is responsible for the maintenance, repair, cleanliness, and overall upkeep of the Denali River Cabins & Cedars Lodge.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: In cooperation with the Doyon Tourism Facilities Manager, DRC Facilities Manager is:

  • Responsible for personal performance and oversight of all facilities maintenance; responsible for safety and comfort in all facilities by keeping all heating, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems in good operating condition
  • Responsible for the maintenance of DRC’s automotive fleet
  • Responsible for on-going examination of the facilities to determine need for repairs or replacement of furniture or equipment
  • Responsible for the daily monitoring of the sewage treatment plant
  • Responsible for the preparation of maintenance work schedules
  • Responsible for weekly maintenance reports, logs, records and all other forms that are necessary for the documentation and management of facilities maintenance to include ADEC monitoring requirements for the sewage treatment plant
  • Responsible for planning and implementing preventative maintenance programs for facilities and equipment
  • Responsible for ordering and maintaining inventories of necessary maintenance supplies
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Computer literacy is beneficial
  • Desire to work cooperatively in a team concept environment and maintain effective work relationships
  • Good conflict resolution and customer service skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including early morning, late evenings, and weekends
