The Facilities Manager plans, organizes, measures, and oversees maintenance of buildings and grounds at our facility and is responsible for the administration and the planning programs within the Facility Department. Manages, trains, directs and coordinates various groups within Facilities .
  • Directs and supervises various union labor in the Facilities Department
  • Manages the measurement of productivity, maintenance costs, and budgets(operating and capital)
  • Initiates and recommends purchase of new capital equipment
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of short term/long term maintenance projects as well as capital projects
  • Coordinates and manages facilities related capital improvements
  • Works with, and assists, other department managers with projects and year round events
  • Trains employees in technical and behavioral skills
  • Participates and recommends long range facilities expansion, conversion and equipment planning
  • Demonstrates a strong desire to embrace new technology and innovative thinking
Required Skills Any combination of training or experience equivalent to completion of four (4) years of undergraduate course work from an accredited college or university in business administration, or related field. Must have a working knowledge of buildings, grounds, equipment maintenance and operation, and landscape maintenance. Knowledge of all equipment used on the grounds. Must have experience with various software systems, including event management software (i.e Ungerbock), AutoCAD, scheduling software (i.e. Microsoft project). Must have knowledge and skills to write specifications for various contracts, union experience preferred. Knowledge of compliance requirements for SB198 and ADA. Requires organizational skills and the ability to perform in a fast paced environment. Requires the ability to work weekends and some evenings and most days of the Fair.

Required Experience
  • Ability to move around the grounds, including climbing up and down stairs
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs
  • Must be able to climb rooftops of buildings and structures
  • The ability to communicate on the phone and 2-way radio
  • Must be able to work some weekends and evening shifts
  • Must have a Valid California Driver License and the ability to drive a golf cart
  • Must have strong administrative experience, preferably in the entertainment or event industry
