The Facilities Manager manages the facilities and maintenance department. Ensures work is processed according to company standards. Work directly with Corporate Real Estate on Landlord/Lease related issues. Other responsibilities will include:

Responsible for hiring, firing, appraising, coaching, training, and mentoring staff.

Manage, support, and coordinate facilities maintenance functions

Develop and implement action plans to reduce breakdowns, improve planned maintenance, optimize scheduled maintenance, and effectively execute new equipment start up events

Work with Purchasing to establish HVAC Preventative Maintenance, Landscape, Janitorial, and other facility/building related contracts

Perform quarterly facility inspection audits and implement corrective action plans with regard to safety and repairs

Conduct review of all facility related invoices to include electric, gas, and water usage, building repairs and maintenance, janitorial, etc.

Maintain the facility in a safe manner. Maintain a standard level of equipment availability and reliability

Ensure contractual lease obligations are being met with regard to repairs and maintenance

Implement, update, and maintain the CDC Safety Program to include accident reporting, documentation, and CDC departmental compliance with company procedures.

Act as CDC Information Technology (IT) liaison with Freeman Corporate IT department regarding CDC telephones, computers and building security system.

Coordinate and monitor CDC re-cycling programs

Coordinate facility and/or maintenance operations with department managers to ensure operational continuity (no unforeseen down time)

Monitor all facility repair costs; seek lowest cost solutions wherever possible

Supervise, monitor and conduct CDC Forklift Operator Training Program

Act as CDC Security Program Chief; responsible for personnel (full-time and temp workers) documentation and facility physical security

Coordinate and ensure compliance with municipal Fire Dept. representatives when necessary

Conduct special projects as required

Required Skills

Required Experience

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Three (3) or more years facilities maintenance experience in a continuous operating (24/7) environment

Two (2) or more years hands on experience in the area of equipment repair

Two (2) or more years of supervisory experience

Electrical and mechanical technical knowledge

General knowledge of HVAC equipment and its routine preventative maintenance.

Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills with the ability to relate well and cooperate with others effectively

Knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, and other proprietary software

Excellent customer service skills

Preferred Experience:
Some college or trade school certificates in related field preferred

Bilingual in English/Spanish.
