Job Duties: The Facilities Operations Manager will plan, organize and manage the facilities operations staff and functions of Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital, including physical plant, environmental services and security. Responsible for ensuring the safety and integrity of the physical plant, maintaining a sanitary and orderly environment, managing facilities projects amid while maintaining Hospital operations. Responsible for compliance with all applicable CHE, SPHP and Sunnyview policies and regulatory requirements including JCAHO, CARF, NYSDOH, NYSDOL, NFPA, EPA, NYSDEC and local AHJ. Serves as the onsite leader reporting to the Director, Facilities Operations for Cont. Care and matrix reporting to the Sunnyview CEO; participates fully as a member of the Sunnyview leadership team. Responsible for ensuring that facilities management, supply chain and related needs of Sunnyview are met on a 24/7 basis; communicates with Sunnyview departments to ensure that needs are being met. Works with the Director in fulfilling the goals of Sunnyview, SPHP and CHE to control cost, and to improve quality and customer satisfaction. Prepares and monitors budget/expenses to control or justify variances. Use internal resources and external suppliers to achieve results. Manages staff, hires/fires, evaluates performance; establishes goals and objectives, policies and standards of performance.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor degree from an accredited school in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering, or equivalent education such as Associate degree and Certified Hospital Facilities Manager. 5 years progressively responsible experience, preferably in hospital or continuing care facilities management. Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, local standards and codes, and requirements of regulatory and accreditation agencies. Comprehensive knowledge of standard operating procedures for plant operation; budget development, personnel management; work standards for skilled personnel; material and equipment suppliers.
