Responsible for assisting the Facilities Services Supervisor and the Operations Coordinator in his/her duties; acts as the operations coordinator in their absence. Assists with administrative duties associated with the day to day operations of the Freight Shed, York Hall, and Riverwalk Landing Docks, and contract management of house keeping services associated with County facilities. Responsible for direct supervision of assigned employees. Additionally, assists with scheduling rental reservations for select County facilities, receiving payments, and managing everyday operations of the Freight Shed Building and the adjacent structures, all located at Riverwalk Landing. Ensures employees follow proper safety regulations in performance of their work. Inspects County and contracted employees work, and notes needed improvements and/or repairs to facilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school graduate or equivalent and 3 to 5 years of closely related experience or any combination of education and experience.

Possession of a valid driver's license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia with good driving record mandatory.

Safety shoes required.

DMV records and criminal background checks conducted prior to employment.

This position is considered an Essential Position (County designation as ALPHA) which requires the employee to report during inclement and extreme weather conditions, often outside normally scheduled work hours.

Work is performed both indoors and outdoors. Must be available to work flexible hours and is subject to being called in for work at varied hours and days, to include weekends and holidays.

Physical Demands:

Must be physically able to operate a motor vehicle. Work often involves heavy lifting (up to 75 pounds) of furniture, and carrying of materials, bending, stooping, standing, and walking while performing moving and set-up activities or supply deliveries.
