The primary objective for the Facilities Specialist (Lab Systems) is to technically support all fuel cell test stations and analytical equipment. This person will focus on maintaining and repairing all test stations and related testing equipment. This person will also complete modifications and improvements to the data acquisition systems of the test station fleet to improve accuracy and safety. Additionally, this person will complete maintenance and repairs for the lab safety system including the PLC’s, gas sensors and solenoid valves. Finally, this position may be asked to complete mechanical tasks to support the fuel cell test station fleet.
Required Skills
Plans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electronic instrument theory and principles, wiring specifications, local and national electrical codes, and properties of various materials
Plans details of working procedure and determines a logical approach to repair problems
Services instrument and electronic equipment by checking, testing, and replacing faulty components, circuit modules, printed circuit boards, and similar devices
Performs all types of instrument and electronic maintenance, making operating adjustments as required
Designs and constructs adaptations of component parts or standard parts as required
Informs supervisor of potentially dangerous electrical equipment observed or faulty instrumentation and corrective actions taken.
Documents maintenance records for instrumentation and electronic fuel cell test equipment
Interacts with Test Engineers to obtain user requirements for fuel cell test equipment
Understands PLC and Control Systems as they relate to test stations and lab safety systems

Required Experience
Associates degree in electrical engineering or equivalent work experience
10 years experience working with electronic instrumentation systems
Customer focused orientation with the ability to communicate effectively with co-workers
Well organized, team-player who will take a “hands-on” approach to solve problems
Ability to generate mechanical and electrical schematics using AutoCAD or Visio
