This position is also responsible for ensuring the preventative maintenance of all tools, equipment and facilities as well as any assigned administrative responsibilities such as record keeping, recording work hours, performance and basic operational forms. This position will need to operate office equipment, computers and perform duties related to budgeting, purchasing, timekeeping and communications. This position interviews, selects, recommends for hire and supervises permanent maintenance positions & seasonal employees . Some weekend and holiday work is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies:
Considerable knowledge of repair, maintenance and construction techniques and of the tools, methods, practices, materials and equipment used in the building and mechanical trades. Working knowledge of building codes and all other rules and regulations governing repair, maintenance and construction of facilities. Ability to perform journey level work in a variety of trades, to read schematics and blueprints, and to estimate repair and construction projects. Must train, direct and supervise subordinates and to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Must meet DENR Fleet Safety Guidelines to maintain valid Class C driver's license.
Must have at least 1 year supervisory experience.
Must have four years experience in performing grounds and facility maintenance work.
Must have journey level experience in plumbing, carpentry and electrical.
Must have demonstrated experience with operation of small engine and large heavy equipment (such as weedeaters, chainsaws, backpack blowers, tractors, and backhoes).

Must be able to obtain and maintain certification as a First Responder.
Must be able to obtain and maintain certification in CPR and be able to complete wild land fire suppression training.
Must be able to obtain S212 Chainsaw Operations training.
Must be capable of successful completion of subsurface and C-well certification training within 24 months of hire.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
High school or General Educational Development diploma and four years of progressive experience in facility maintenance including journey level experience in at least three building or mechanical trades; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
