The University of South Florida St. Petersburg (USFSP) invites applications and nominations for the position of Facility Manager of the University Student Center (USC). USFSP is a premier graduate urban institution and a member of the University of South Florida System. The Facility Manager is an integral member of the University Student Center Administration. This position is responsible for the managing the daily operation of our Reservation Services department and our evening and weekend building operations of the University Student Center. The Facility Manager coordinates event and meeting reservations and use of non-academic space for the campus. This position assists and supports student and staff programming efforts on campus. The Facility Manager is also responsible for policy and procedure development, oversight of a graduate student, student staff supervision, and acting as liaison between other university departments.
The successful candidate will oversee reservation process with the Reservation Services Department for Student Organizations, University Departments, and off campus clients. Make recommendations for improvements of this process to ensure a smooth operation and process for clients to the Assistant Director. Supervise and oversee all special events occurring in the University Student Center, auxiliary spaces and outdoor areas.
Coordinate campus space use via Reservation Services event management systems. Implement policy, establish procedure, and facilitate use of non-class use space for off-campus organizations and university departments.
Oversee the evening and weekend building operations for the University Student Center and auxiliary spaces for adherence to established facility policies and standards. Instructs and implements procedures as necessary to insure compliance. Develop and evaluate effectiveness of evening operations relative to improvement of all operational areas.
Supervise 1 USPS staff member, 1 graduate assistant and 20 student operations staff to ensure proper service and coordination for events in the University Student Center and all auxiliary spaces. Hire, train, schedule, motivate, evaluate, discipline, and reward University Student Center student operations staff.
Support and assist administrative and programming needs of the campus. Help professional staff and student organization leaders with program and event planning for the University Student Center and other spaces on campus. Attend planning meetings for campus events; serve on campus and departmental committees.
Serve as adviser to student government and other student organization officers and committees.
Minimum Qualifications (Education & Experience):
The position requires Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience. Directly related career experience may be substituted for the degree requirements on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications (Education & Experience):
Masters degree in Higher Education or College Student Personnel Administration or related program with two years of Student Union experience.
