Chevron Environmental Management Company (EMC) is a key resource to domestic and international OPCOs responsible for providing technical, consulting and project management services for onshore and offshore decommissioning and remediation work. The scope of Gulf of Mexico offshore decommissioning includes pipeline abandonment (in-place and removal schemes), single-well caisson removal, conductor severing and removal, topsides flushing and preparation for removal, deck removal, and multi-leg structure removal.
Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Facility Site Manager USO located in Covington, Louisiana through February 21st 2013 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Develop procedures, prepare cost estimates, and prepare schedules for offshore structure and pipeline decommissioning and salvage programs.
Work closely with decommissioning engineers and other office support personnel to secure the necessary equipment and services to conduct offshore decommissioning operations, providing oversight to contractor crews, preparing daily decommissioning activity reports, and tracking project execution metrics.
High School diploma or equivalent.
A minimum of 10 years of offshore experience.
Ability to travel and stay overnight on offshore platforms, structures and boats.
Ability to pass swing rope test and obtain HUET certification.
Planning and execution of offshore pipeline and structure decommissioning and salvage.
Experience working from various marine vessels (lift boats, derrick barges, etc.) and experience working with diving services contractors, construction contractors, explosives services, or offshore facilities construction.
Offshore project coordination / company representative experience in executing salvage, decommissioning, or construction projects.
Experience in planning and managing complex, multi-faceted decommissioning projects involving diving and heavy lift salvage operations, tools, equipment, and marine vessels in offshore environment within assigned scope, timeframe, and budget using Chevron Project Management and Capital Stewardship tools and principles.
Ability to assist decommissioning engineers in developing cost effective and innovative decommissioning approaches.
Experience with various safety system tools (such as Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Behavior Based Safety Observation process (BBSO), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Contractor Safety Management, etc.).
Experience in positive reinforcement of safety performance / behaviors.
Alignment with objectives, performance driven, leads by example, inspires others, accountable and hold others accountable.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
Offshore facility site management experience in executing large salvage projects.
Heavy lift and salvage or construction related safety experience.
Relocation will not be considered within Chevron parameters.
