Tandem is an innovative medical device company launching a product with cutting edge technology and is looking for a motivated and driven Facilities Tech. This person will maintain and repair the facility’s structure, equipment and grounds, including minor plumbing, electrical and HVAC. Performs skilled trades work, such as minor carpentry or painting in the construction, repair or alteration of structures such as walls, roofs, or office fixtures. Responds to facility emergency issues, including all alarm monitoring of critical equipment. Helps schedule repairs with external vendors. Provides feedback on the janitorial and HVAC services. Works with manufacturing in the installation or repair of building plumbing and wiring required in the production process. Supports projects with the landlord regarding building and grounds maintenance. Makes periodic or special inspections of the premise to determine repair work necessary.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Inspects janitorial services for cleanliness and takes action as necessary
  • Orders and stocks Facilities supplies

  • Maintains all appliances including, dishwashers, microwaves, freezers, and refrigerators
  • Coordinates maintenance activities with manufacturing leads and supervisors so as to minimize disruptions to manufacturing
  • Works with other Facilities personnel to coordinate vendor visits and activities

  • Prepares allocated cubicle spaces and coordinates internal moves with appropriate management approvals
  • Monitors and interacts with construction team members regarding facility expansion/modification plans as instructed by the Director, IT & Facilities
  • Performs “handyman” maintenance duties such as simple electrical projects, spot painting and/or cleaning, light construction and/or exterior cleanup
  • Conference/break room meeting setups and post meeting cleanups
  • Works cross functionally and takes initiative in resolution of facility related problems
  • Acts as liaison to the landlord on routine maintenance issues
  • Maintains Storage and Utility rooms
  • Maintains lobbies, trash areas, generator pads, restrooms and meeting rooms to ensure they are clean and stocked with supplies
  • Confirms completion of required training plan before assuming job responsibilities
  • Ensures work is performed in compliance with company policies including Privacy/HIPAA and other regulatory, legal, and safety requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

What you need for this position:
  • Skilled in hand and power tools
  • Able to effectively share information related to work product in verbal and written form
  • Able to contribute to the team by supporting the acceptance of new team members
  • Trained to handle hazardous materials (HAZMAT)
  • Demonstrated ability to work accurately, follow instructions and schedules, and handle multiple priorities
  • Microsoft basic computer skills

Minimum certifications/educational level:
  • HS diploma with post-secondary school training/education preferred

Minimum experience:
  • 2 years of related facility experience
  • Experience with biotechnology organizations preferred
