Duties and Responsibilities
Minimum Education or Experience
- Maintains the Faculty Information Systems for full-time, part-time, and visiting faculty including entering faculty appointments, including mid-probationary, tenure, and endowed chair reviews, reviewing and approving salary/stipend entries, supplemental salaries and generating reports. - Is responsible for and manages the in-house salary and budget modules. - Oversees the progress of full time faculty searches, including but not limited to: acting as the contact for questions regarding hiring policies and procedures; and provides technical assistance, and maintains communication with appropriate Deans' office. - Works with appropriate staff to provide user training of faculty information systems, related business processes, documentation requirements and approval chains. -Provides all pertinent payroll and benefit information to Human Resources; prepares and approves Personnel Action Forms to communicate change information to HR. - Maintains effective communication with newly hired faculty. - Works with International Affairs to acquire and maintain work authorizations for international faculty. - Collaborates with other departments to complete, submit and distribute faculty reports and/or surveys. - Performs related duties as required.
Bachelor's degree in business, human resources or related field and at least five years of progressive experience in human resources or personnel administration required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Certificates, credentials or licenses required to perform the duties of this position:
Proficiency in MS Office Suite with strong Excel skills, Internet and e-mail applications. Fundamental technical skills and willingness to learn and improve effective usage of University technology and software.
A bachelor's degree in business, human resources, educational administration, or related field is required. At least two years' experience in human resources or educational administration is necessary. Strong analytical skills with the ability to exercise good judgment in problem solving. Ability to read, interpret and communicate University policies and procedures. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to interact effectively and diplomatically with faculty and staff at all levels within the University. Good time management and multi-tasking skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
