Full Sail University is now accepting applications for Course Director, High Tech Entrepreneurship in its Innovation and Entrepreneurship Master of Science Degree Program.
The Course Director is responsible for the handling, preparation and presentation of course material, as well as proper management of course curriculum and instructional staff. This includes but is not limited to: teaching, instructional planning, curriculum and program development, advising students, and participation in campus activities.
Creating a new technology-based business venture presents several special challenges. The rapid pace of technological change requires innovative entrepreneurs to look well into the future and ensure that the organization can react quickly to ever-changing market demands. The High Tech Entrepreneurship Course is designed to help students develop their skills to understand the unique aspects of technology based ventures and provide the tools to research and evaluate the viability of high tech products and services. The course is designed to help students understand how to use their creative energies to facilitate the entrepreneurial process.
In this course, students examine a variety of innovation strategies and models, review opportunities for monetizing technological innovation through the introduction of innovative products and technologies, and discuss issues relative to intellectual property and licensing. Students review case studies of high tech companies that successfully managed innovation and shorter product life cycles, as well as those who failed to respond quickly enough and lost market share or discontinued operation as a result.
Requirements: The ideal candidate must have a minimum of four years of related experience. Strong entrepreneurial experience in forming new businesses required. The industry experience would include entertainment business, marketing, management or business. Teaching experience is preferred and the candidate must have a passion for education. This position is full-time and based on campus in Winter Park, Florida.
Education/Training : Education/Training: Master's degree is the minimum requirement. PhD, DBA or JD preferred. Faculty teaching graduate level courses must possess a minimum of a related graduate degree or a graduate degree and 18 credit hours of related graduate coursework in Business, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Design, Finance, Law, or a related field.
Skills Needed: Broad base of knowledge in management, marketing, business, and the entertainment industry. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Proficiency in Mac or PC platforms. Must have strong social media skills.
