The Dickinson State University Department of Teacher Education is seeking a responsible and resourceful educator to teach a full load of 12 credits per semester (24 credits per academic year) in a non-tenure track position. Responsibilities will include placement and supervision of pre-service teachers, coordination of fieldwork experiences, with the possibility of a subject area methods and additional courses. One of the courses each semester may involve travel one evening per week to the Dickinson State University distance education site located in Bismarck, ND (approx. 100 miles from Dickinson), on the campus of Bismarck State College. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in departmental and university meetings and work collaboratively with area K-12 schools. An earned doctorate in Education or related discipline is preferred; K-12 teaching experience is required. Consideration may be given to individuals who are currently completing a doctorate degree program. All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution. College teaching experience, ability to use and integrate technology in educational settings, and knowledge of reflective teaching practices are preferred.

The Dickinson State University teacher education program is nationally accredited by NCATE (CAEP), and is also approved by the North Dakota Education Standards and Practices Board. The conceptual framework for the program is "Teachers as Reflective Decision Makers."

This is a nine-month, non-tenure track faculty position. The salary range for this position is $40,000 - $45,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The benefit package includes TIAA-CREF retirement and employer paid Blue Cross Blue Shield health insurance coverage for the employee and family. Contract begins August 16, 2013.
