FARM OPERATIONSJob Opening as of February 4th, 2013Job Title: FARM MAINTENANCE MECHANICDepartment: Farm OperationsReports to: FARM MANAGERWage Range: $12.54 - 15.81/hr Shift: Varied Shifts Weekend rotationsExempt Status: Non-ExemptJob SummaryProvide maintenance expertise on farm operations working as a team member to ensure the farm is operating at a high level of efficiency utilizing mechanical support skills to construct and support farm equipment. Clear Springs Foods, Inc. is an employee owned company that is fully vertically integrated controlling all aspects of its food business from inception to market.Essential FunctionsAbility to Maintain Processing Equipment that Produces Products for Customers: Hydraulic Systems: To include, but not be limited to, hydraulic motors as well as pumps, pressure switches, directional flow control valves, check valves, hydraulic manifolding, as well as piping and hydraulic fittings.Pneumatics: To include but not be limited to, cylinders, air motors, control valuing and piping, and an ability to interpret pneumatic schematics. Welding Skills: To include, but not be limited to, the use of an oxy-acetylene cutting torch, oxy-acetylene welding, stick welding on mild steel as well as stainless steel, and tig (helliarc) welding of aluminum and stainless steel.

Tig welding a plus. Electrical: A basic understanding of electricity in both single phase and three phase power for 110V, 230V, and 480V.Industrial Shop Tools: To include but not be limited to, the use of grinders and cutoff saws, band saws, drill presses, hydraulic presses, and pipe threading equipment, table saws. Experience: Previous work experience as a most power tools are supplied by the company, but you will need to have your own hand tools (standard and metric).Basic Vehicle Maintenance which can include small repairs and basic troubleshooting. Basic Carpentry skills.Basic fabrication skills building graters etc.Solid understanding of automatized feeder systems along with troubleshooting and repairing.Greasing, to include but not limited to the use of hand grease guns as well as pump and canister type greasing systems.Lubrication, to include but not limited to, gear box lubrication and chain lubrication.Assure safety and quality standards are adhered to.Ability to perform sanitation tasks as assigned.Grading fish for market and around the facility.Loading fish to be delivered to the processing plant.Delivering fish to the plant (Class B CDL required in reasonable amount of time)Participate in some discussion about confidential/sensitive matters.Communicate with employees and others through written, oral and face-to-face interactions.Assist other team members in completion of work.

Ability to work flexible work schedules with varying hours as required. Miscellaneous Duties as assigned.QualificationsRecord keeping, organizational skills.Leadership potential. Exemplary Attendance.Ability to communicate and work as a team member.Vast knowledge of fresh and frozen product line, packaging requirements. Ability to communicate both verbally and in written form.

Ability to communicate in English in order to adhere to safety standards. Must show a positive attitude, and work well with others. Successful applicant is expected to stay in the position for 6 months.Typical Physical ActivityThis job involves medium work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The worker will be required to have a range of motion as follows: Often requires walking, moving or climbing to accomplish tasks.

Often requires standing for sustained periods of time. Occasionally requires stooping and reaching. Occasionally requires pushing using upper extremities to press against something with steady force. Occasionally requires pulling using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.

Lifting is required on an occasional basis.Ability to use pallet jacks is required. Often requires feeling of products perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips. Repetitive motions are required which involve substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.Typical Environmental ConditionsThe worker is frequently subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Worker will be exposed to a 32 F environment on occasion.
