Inside Sales Account Executive– Public Sector

As an Account Executive you will focus on Insight’s Public Sector (IPS). In this role you will develop and maintain business relationships to sell products, and/or services via telephone and/or email within the public sector segment. This position receives inbound calls and makes outbound phone calls focused on developing buying relationships with Federal clients. As a trusted advisor to Insight’s clients, you will identify opportunities to leverage Insight’s complete technology offering which encompasses hardware, software, services and networking. This position will partner with sales specialists to manage and grow opportunities within their market/region to achieve sales objectives.

Key areas of responsibility include:
  • 70% making/receiving phone calls related to sales activities
  • 30% maintaining client relationships/accounts
  • Engaging in cold calling to establish new business
  • Identifying sales opportunities by exploring client business needs and may introduce a Sales Specialist to assist in closing a sale
  • Ability to demonstrate a full understanding of business issues, displaying excellent telephone and interpersonal communication (written and verbal) skills; ask questions that move clients forward in their buying process
  • Understanding the negotiating interests of both Insight and the client while displaying strong technical knowledge
  • Following up thoroughly on each client commitment, prospecting, qualifying, and developing profitable new account relationships
  • Developing relationships with manufacture and publisher partners to work on leads and opportunities)
  • Developing and maintaining a strong knowledge of leading industry trends and technology initiatives
  • Leveraging resources to provide added value to federal agencies in order to maintain excellent customer satisfaction
  • Submitting accurate and timely forecasts that are aligned with assigned sales quotas
  • Facilitating all communications, order processing and reporting for all current and future accounts
  • Proactively advising and introducing new solutions to solve client’s business needs
  • Attending Company, vendor, and publisher trainings and webinars, as directed
To be successful, you will need:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience selling technology services and solutions to the federal marketplace or government
  • Prior work experience selling high end solutions
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate with not just internal customers but also external customers and vendors
  • A successful track record of quota attainment demonstrating your ability to stay motivated to achieve your goals
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate with not only the internal customers but also external customers and vendors
  • Knowledge of utilizing Salesforce.com a plus
  • Must be focused and motivated and be able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to use the Microsoft Office suite
  • Must be available to work non-standard hours during busy season
