Position Overview:

The Federal Market Research Analyst is responsible for conducting and analyzing business opportunity research, predominantly for federal government business opportunities. This position will assist in new business capture and act as a liaison between clients, government officials, the business capture team, and the executive management team. The Federal Market Research Analyst ensures the quality and analytical depth of all pertinent content and verifies that this information is accurately and properly recorded in the internal database. This position is crucial in helping our business development team continue our growth and success.

  • Identify federal requirements using in-depth primary and secondary source research
  • Stay abreast of procurement developments to enable and facilitate quality data collection and representation
  • Conduct analysis of existing and upcoming federal requirements through in-depth research (in-person, telephonic, web, etc)
  • Generate, qualify, cultivate, and track a pipeline of leads for the business development team
  • Conduct data calls with Contracting Officers, government officials, and potential teaming partners
  • Update and track progress on both previously identified and potential federal business opportunities
  • Synthesize research findings in written, oral, and online formats
  • Evaluate market trends and provide corresponding reports
  • Create and provide written and oral briefings to internal staff and external clients
  • Deliver high-quality and timely responses to inquiries from external customers, government contacts, and internal employees
  • Ensure accurate and timely information exchange between all pertinent parties
  • Conduct research to inform on strategy for capture management and proposal development
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field; or equivalent experience in a relevant role
  • 2-5 years of professional experience in marketing, customer support, federal government procurement, business development support, or business operations support
  • Must have at least 1 year of experience with federal market intelligence and business development tools, such as INPUT or GovWin
  • A concrete understanding of government contracting and the public sector procurement process, as well as Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and/or business development cycle
  • Knowledge of FBO, Fedconnect, and/or Agency Forecast
  • Good communication skills, written and oral, with exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent internet research skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with government personnel
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to quickly learn new software, techniques, and processes
  • Effective problem solving and project management skills, with the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment, focused on transparency, accountability, cooperation, and communication
