As the demand for our products has grown, and the range of devices and applications proliferated, we have expanded into new markets including voice, music and gaming. To reinforce our commitment, we have acquired companies in these sectors including SiRF in 2009, aptX® in 2010 and Zoran in 2011 and we now need to expand our growing team with bright Software Applications Engineers who will help support our growing list of customers.
This software application engineer will work on CSR’s leading-edge connectivity and location products and provide technical support to customers and CSR internal sales and field organizations. This engineer’s main responsibility is to enable customers to go to production with CSR products. This is accomplished by writing application notes, developing software examples and demonstrations, assisting customers integrating the software modules in their platform, as well as providing training on CSR's products to customers and CSR internal organizations. This role also requires assisting customers with complex technical issues at their site or remotely, and giving technical presentations at internal and external development conferences.
Person Specification - Required
The ideal candidate will have a B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related, plus at least 5 years of professional experience. This engineer should be an expert in ‘C’ language development and SW protocols for wireless systems. A strong background in memory and resource-constrained, real-time embedded systems and understanding of microcomputer architecture is required.
Knowledge of RF/Wireless systems, BSP hardware and software, and familiarity with at least one wireless software protocol stack (e.g. WiFi,
Bluetooth, ZigBee, etc.) is required. Experience developing and/or debugging embedded device drivers (e.g. UART, SPI, I2C, etc.) is required.
Good communication skills are required to communicate effectively with people in different countries.
Ability to network and establish the cross-functional relationships needed to acquire knowledge and drive system solutions with cross-functional teams.
Innate customer focus and the ability to comfortably discuss and work on technical topics with customers is a must.
Shape future products improvements and support the business development through feedback to development and marketing teams of observations from CSR field resources and customers.
Must be available for international and domestic travel.
