Provides technical support and feedback to engineering groups or customer for mobile handset devices. Audits, tests, document results and identifies problems of software/hardware and software products. Developing professional expertise applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
  • 2-4 years experience with knowledge of CDMA systems and standards
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to execute detailed instructions and procedures
  • Ability to understand basic software architecture
  • Experience in formal test, especially test planning, is preferred
  • Knowledge of Wireless Communications Systems.
  • Knowledge of test equipment, telecommunications systems, and data communication layers are preferred
  • Knowledge of Java or J2ME is preferred
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of logging tools (for example, QXDM, Wireshark)
  • Works with customers and development team to enhance product performance
  • Plans, Coordinates, and executes test cases, troubleshoot failures and provides feedback on feature maturity
  • Analyzes and generates test reports for development engineering review and for customer
  • Debugs and characterizes defects and prioritizes software problems
  • Performs repetitive regression test cases on updated software or hardware releases
  • Communicates with counter part in Japan
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors
  • Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
  • Builds productive working relationships internally and externally
  • Works in an office environment
  • Often required to work outside of the office for testing, including drive test
  • Must be able to drive to test site independently
  • Travel up to 50%
